Who we are
About Us
Tutor Your Child was created to help parents understand how maths and English are taught in primary schools, and to what level of depth, and to provide parents with everything they need to confidently support their children at home.
Founded by experienced teachers and tutors, the programme aims to prevent children from falling behind and to boost their confidence and abilities by offering affordable, accessible learning options for Reception to Year 6.
Tutor Your Child supports families to practise learning together in the comfort of their home, at their own pace, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.

Sue Fraser (Founder and director)
After a successful career in banking and project management, I retrained as a primary school teacher in 2008, inspired by being a parent and also after working as a teaching assistant.
For eight years, I worked as a class teacher and English subject leader before becoming a full-time professional tutor, specialising in supporting children who had lost confidence or fallen behind in their learning.
In 2021, I founded Tutor Your Child to give parents the knowledge, tools, and confidence to support their children’s learning in maths and English at home — without the high cost of private tuition.
Alongside this, I also developed a maths intervention programme used in both primary and secondary schools to identify and address gaps in pupils’ maths understanding, helping them build the strong foundations needed for future success.
I have also spoken in podcasts and contributed to published research exploring how early intervention can close learning gaps and improve long-term outcomes. One of my greatest passions is children’s mental health — because teaching is about so much more than academic progress. It’s about nurturing and guiding confidence and self-belief and opening doors to the future.
